Description
Lavender will flower from early- to late-summer and will come back every year in warm to mild climates. One of the richest in essential oils, the flowers can be used for delicious cakes and pastries, soothing potpourris and sachets, or fragrant creams and perfumes. Seeds take several weeks to germinate and should be started indoors in warm soil that is kept moist, transplanting outdoors once the seedlings are 1-2 inches tall.
Where to plant :: Plant lavender in a well-drained open area with full sun.
When to start inside :: Start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before your last frost date.
When to sow outside :: Transplant lavender after the last frost in the spring once the soil has warmed.
